The Vision of Hell and the Great Secret of Fatima
Sr. Lucia, “Father, the Devil is fighting a decisive battle against the Virgin" The message of Fatima is more relevant today than in 1917.
Why do you think Our Blessed Mother would show three little shepherd children, all under the age of 10 a vision of hell? Do you think she meant to frighten them? Do you think she meant to deceive them? Do you think she had a message to reveal?
Jesus spoke about heaven very often, but he never avoided speaking about hell very often, too. Do you think the Blessed Trinity had a plan for Jesus coming into the world?
The answer to all these questions is that the Blessed Trinity does have a plan for mankind. It's man that complicates the plan. Jesus shed His Precious Blood on the cross and it is poured out through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass which is outside of time to bring us life in His Kingdom! Jesus came to give a way to His Kingdom, and that it is through the Church he established. He established the Church so he could bring us his body and blood in expiation for our sins. He also gave us all seven sacraments, but most importantly the “Mass of the Ages”, and not the “New Synodal, Progressive Church” we have now, which is always changing and adapting to the world.
Back to the questions about Our Blessed Mother showing a vision of hell to the three children of Fatima. I will give a brief synopsis of this very rich and still very relevant, approved apparition of the Church; so we can understand that God and Our Lady gave a solution to the crisis in the Church and in the world.
It was the year 1917 on May 13th, Our Lady of Fatima appeared to the 3 shepherd children; Lucia Santos (10 yrs), Francisco (9) and Jacinta Marto (7 yrs) at the Cova da Iria in Fatima, Portugal. This first apparition of Our Lady was preceded by the previous year by the apparitions of the Angel of Peace aka as the Angel of Portugal.
Our Lady told the children she would return at same time each month for 5 more months. Pope Benedict XV had desperately prayed to Our Lady prior to the apparitions of Fatima to help end WWI and the loss of faith as it was "era of enlightenment!"
On June 13, 1917 Our Lady came and showed the children Her Immaculate Heart, surrounded by thorns, pierced and bleeding. The children understood that this was because of sin. Our Lady came and asked for daily sacrifice, to pray the daily Rosary in reparation for sins

July 13, 1917, Our Lady of Fatima conveyed a "Great Secret" to the three children which had three parts. The first part was the vision of hell. See my short video here below of the vision of hell. (If the children can handle it so can we!)
The second part of the Great Secret was the what Our Lady told the children after the vision of hell.
"You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end; but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illuminated by an unknown light, know that this is a great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russian to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world."
At the beatification of Francisco and Jacinta Marto on May 13, 2000, the Vatican released what they said was the "Third Part of the Great Secret", however many who have read the Third Secret and Lucia herself revealed there was more to the Secret than what was revealed to the public. Lucia has stated in her Fourth Memoir recording of the apparitions, now Sister Lucia she would write of everything "With the exception of that part of the Secret which I am not permitted to reveal at present.” The only thing she wrote about the Third Secret was the following:
" In Portugal, the dogma of the faith will always be preserved, ETC. Tell this to no one.
Sr. Lucia was ordered by Our Lady to reveal the Third Secret in 1960.
1944, January 2nd, Our Lady appears to Sister Lucia and bids her to write down the Third Secret. Our Lady asks it to be revealed to the world not later than 1960. When later asked why the people had to wait for the Third Secret to be revealed in 1960, Sr. Lucia states: “Because the Blessed Virgin wishes it so,” and “It [the Third Secret] will be clearer then.” The Third Secret is later delivered in person by Sr. Lucia to her confessor bishop who in turn delivers it to the Bishop of Fatima, José da Silva, on June 17.
In 1952, Pope Pius XII sent Father Joseph Schweigl to interrogate Sr. Lucia about the Third Secret. Fr. Schweigl stated she said the following, " I may not reveal anything with regard to the Third Secret , but I am able to say that it has two parts: One concerns the Pope. The other part is logical continuation -though I may not say anything -of the words: "In Portugal, the dogma of the faith will always be preserved, ETC." That which Sr Lucia "ETC." held a place for words of the Blessed Mother.
The Third Secret was read by Pope John XIII in 1959 but he closed the sealed envelope back that it was contained in at the Vatican and said, "I will leave it for others to comment or decide" So what happened next many believe was the very crisis in the Church Our Lady was trying to warn us about, Vatican II Council (1962-1965) the Novus Ordo Mass, and New Sacraments. Because they haven't obeyed Heaven, we can see the progression even today with a "New Synodal and Very "Green" Church.
Fatima is more relevant today because it is the answer to crisis in the Church, the "Synodal" , non-traditional, erosion of the Church and the diminishing of the faith. This is why Our Lady came and showed the children hell because if we don't hold onto and preserve the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Faith, then it will only lead so many to hell! This is why we need the Traditions of the Catholic faith which includes the Traditional Latin Mass. The TLM is the true expiation for our sins that Christ gave us at His Passion and Death and has been handed down for 2000 years.
The apparitions ended on October 13, 1917 with the Great Miracle of Fatima aka the Miracle of the Sun which helped to prove Our Lady was appearing to the three children. The miracle was witnessed by 70K people and reported in many newspapers. The miracle of the sun is the first time in history of man that God performed a miracle excluding the Resurrection at a predicted time and place to prove the following; 1) that war is caused by sin, 2) Error will continue to spread from an atheistic Russia throughout the world , causing further war; several nations will be annihilated, unless men stop offending God.
Our Lady asked for a Chapel to be built in her honor. She called herself the "Lady of the Rosary" and asked to continue to pray the rosary every day.
Sr. Lucia's last interview was with Fr. Augustin Fuentes in 1957. It was the last public interview of Sr. Lucia. After it, permission was refused for any other interviews and she was silenced and hidden away for the next several decades. Fr. Fuentes was the Mexican priest named vice-postulator of the cause of beatification for Francisco and Jacinta. In that interview Sr. Lucy said that Our Lady told her: “The last means that God will give to the world for its salvation are the Holy Rosary and My Immaculate Heart.”
Sr. Lucia said, “Father, the Blessed Virgin is very sad because no one has paid attention to her Message, neither the good nor the bad. The good, because they continue on the road of goodness, but without paying mind to this Message. The bad, because of their sins, do not see God’s chastisement already falling on them presently; they also continue on their path of badness, ignoring the Message. But, Father, you must believe me that God is going to punish the world and chastise it in a tremendous way.”
“The chastisement from Heaven is imminent. The year 1960 is on us, and then what will happen? It will be very sad for everyone, and far from a happy thing if the world does not pray and do penance before then. I cannot give more details, because it is still a secret
“Father, the Devil is fighting a decisive battle against the Virgin and, as you know, what most offends God and what will gain him the greatest number of souls in the shortest time is to gain the souls consecrated to God (The Catholic Clergy)For this also leaves unprotected the field of the laity and the Devil can more easily seize them.
”Also, Father, tell them that my cousins Francisco and Jacinta made sacrifices because they always saw the Blessed Virgin was very sad in all her apparitions. She never smiled at us. This anguish that we saw in her, caused by offenses to God and the chastisements that threaten sinners, penetrated our souls. And being children, we did not know what measures to devise except to pray and make sacrifices.”
Referring to the vision of Hell that Our Lady showed her and Jacinta and Francisco, she said:
“For this reason, Father, it is my mission not just to tell about the material punishments that will certainly come over the earth if the world does not pray and do penance. No, my mission is to tell everyone the imminent danger we are in of losing our souls for all eternity if we remain fixed in sin.
“Father, we should not wait for a call to the world from Rome on the part of the Holy Father to do penance. Nor should we wait for a call for penance to come from the Bishops in our Dioceses, nor from our Religious Congregations. No, Our Lord has often used these means, and the world has not paid heed. So, now each one of us must begin to reform himself spiritually. Each one has to save not only his own soul, but also all the souls that God has placed on his pathway.
Please pray for the Holy Father and all the Bishops to obey Our Lady of Fatima, as well for all Catholics to complete the 5 First Saturdays, wear the Brown Scapular, pray the Holy Rosary and make sacrifices for sins daily.

Our Lady of Fatima told Sr. Lucia, “Announce in My name that I promise to assist at the hour of death, all those who, on the First Saturday of Five Consecutive months, shall:
Go to confession and receive Holy Communion
Recite the Holy Rosary
And keep Me company for a quarter of an hour while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary
With the intention of making reparation to Me. I promise to assist them at the hour of their death with all the graces necessary to save their souls.
